The Piano Works proprietor, Linda Chartrau, is an accomplished pianist, organist, composer, recording artist and piano technician. Considered a protege in her early teens, Linda was groomed to replace her passing organ teacher, a music director of a large church in the St. Louis area. She continued her studies in performance and education at Southern Illinois University and has had the career of a professional musician ever since. Linda and her husband Ron are members of Prince of Peace Church in Rockton, Illinois. Chartrau enjoys a busy life, living in the Rockford, IL area, as mother of three children, grandmother of four, piano teacher, piano tuner and repair technician and still finds time to accompany many school and church choirs. Thirty years ago, Linda began teaching piano lessons to all ages young and old. She has taught hundreds the art of playing the piano privately and at the college level. Over the years, Linda has played for special events such as, weddings, church services, assisted living functions and parties.
